Growing up in Lafayette, Tennessee, it was the simple pleasures that mattered the most. Only about 3,500 people live in town, so everyone knew one another, or at least knew of their them. We traveled the unbeaten paths and unpaved roads, discovering unique treasures that some would simply pass without a second thought. We lived amongst freshwater streams and tall mountainscapes. In these simple pleasures, I developed a fond appreciation in the beauty of things we so often take for granted. El Campo immediately took me back to that special place in time when life was so simple and I knew I'd found my calling in life. My goal is to provide the community with a look at life from my view and my lens, where those simple pleasures fill your life with happiness and memories to last a lifetime.
Barbizon Modeling School in Nashville, Tennessee taught me the art of hairstyling, posing, and many additional skills I adapt to each El Campo photography shoot. One of the most important lessons learned that I brought with me into my photography is the art of storytelling through the lens. Once-in-a-lifetime memories aren't given a second opportunity to capture in print. I ensure those intimate moments are held close to your heart with portraiture to help tell the story. Quickly after enrolling at Barbizon, I knew that I had found my calling. While I enjoyed the spotlight in front of the camera, I wanted to be behind the lens.
Life has a way of changing plans and instead of living in New York, I became a wife and mother, stepping away from the modeling industry. Many years and four children later, I took a leap of faith and followed my passion opening Synderella Sentiments Photography in 2011. My unique attention to detail led to stunning photographs and a successful venture with many loyal customers and new clientele. Feeling my images could go further I decided to go back to school to receive my degree in Digital communications with a specialization in Digital Photography. It was a long, hard journey but with the support of my husband and our four children, I graduated in May of 2017 with high honors.
Rebranded in 2016 as Cristal Malek Photography, my new studio aims to provide El Campo residents a unique photography experience, capturing both emotion and beauty within every portrait. My unique line of portrait products is printed with archival grade inks upon your choice of high-quality papers, canvas, and nontraditional mediums such as metal or wood, assuring that your images are a true reflection of you. Specializing in newborn, wedding, school, senior, and commercial photography, Cristal Malek photography focuses on capturing portraits that speak to your soul; reflections of that suspended moment now preserve for a lifetime.
